Taffy is a female maltese/shih tzu, approx. 2 ½ years old. She is spayed, vaccinated and on Heartgard monthly. Taffy weighs about 10 #. She has maltese hair and a shih tzu body and face. Taffy was rescued after being brought into the pound as a stray. She was very emaciated and matted and dirty. The first week, I had to feed her several times a day, very small portions, as she would ravenously eat everything I gave her. After a couple of weeks, she finally figured out that she had another meal coming and slowed down on her chow.
Taffy is a solid little girl, no fat, just a muscular little body. She can jump on a bed in a wink. She sleeps in the lower bed of a doggie bunkbed at nite and when you say, “go to bed, Taffy”, she runs to her bed and jumps in. She sleeps all nite, but at the first movement in the morning, she is up and at ’em. Taffy is housetrained, but does NOT like to be crated. She is not destructive and is allowed to run house free all day. She LOVES balls, especially the squeaky ones and will carry one around all the time. This little girl is happy and carefree, loving and playful. She has no fear of men or women and likes older children, as long as they are kind and gentle with her. She has 10 doggie companions and gets on with all of them, as well as the many cats and kittens that are around. Taffy loves one-on-one attention and would be a great only dog or with one other companion. She plays fiercely with her best buds, Gizmo (male Peke) and Beau (male toy poodle). If you are looking to adopt a pair of dogs, Taffy and Gizmo would be a good pair. Both dogs are curious and unafraid, which is sometimes mistaken for dog aggression. Taffy minds well and does not take well to scolding.
