Spot is a male Jack Russell/Rat Terrier mix who is approximately 7 years old and weighs in at 20 lbs. Spot has been in rescue for more than five years. When we got him he was found running loose in a rural area of TN. He was found by a man and his son who brought him to the rescue. He went to adoption events for a while, but back then he was so hyper and someone in his past had hit him with something resembling a broom…because brooms or anything with a handle puts him over the edge. We quit taking him to events but have had little interest over the years from an appropriate home. Now, after all these years Spot has calmed down and is really an awesome dog. He is great on a leash, but he still will run if he gets away from you. He will come back after he visits every smell he can find. He is very treat driven. Spot would be an awesome companion for a mature home where toddlers or small children are not pulling on him or hitting him with something. He still goes nuts if you come close to him with a broom. He would also be great somewhere with fenced land because he loves to run. Spot gets along with other dogs, but we have not tested him with cats. Spot is heartworm negative, current on vaccinations, neutered and will be microchipped.
