Candy is some sort of lab/pit mix, weighs about 35-40 pounds, and is an older, mature girl. It is tough to estimate her age because she was not at all well cared for. Poor Candy was bred A LOT and it has taken a bit of a toll on her little body, but she may not actually be that old, because she certainly doesn’t act like it! She has a great personality, loves human attention, following her foster daddy around the house, and going for short walks.
Candy “turned up” at a landscaping business in Bartlett in November 2009. She was rescued on a freezing cold December night snuggled down in the bushes to keep warm as best she could. She was dirty, exhausted, stinky and emaciated. Despite her condition, she was VERY forthcoming with Candy Kisses.
Candy is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and on heartworm and flea and tick prevention. Candy came into rescue heartworm positive, but has undergone heartworm treatment and is doing great! She is house trained and crate trained. She has been in foster care with dogs and cats and gets along well with both. If you are looking for an all-around great, but slightly older, medium-sized dog, you have found her!!
